                                        AKINETIC RIGID SYNDROME Akinetic rigid syndrome, also known as parkinsonian syndrome, is a group of neurological disorders that cause movement problems similar to those seen in Parkinson's disease. These disorders can cause stiffness or rigidity in the limbs and trunk, slowness of movement, tremors, and problems with balance and coordination. Akinetic rigid syndrome can be caused by a variety of underlying conditions, including Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, and Lewy body dementia.
