According to WHO, health is defined as a state of entire physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of sickness or disability.

The ancient Greeks were the first to adhere to a strict health regimen.

Overall health is defined by different Categories. These categories are    :  

  • Physical: refers to the state of your body when all of its functions and systems are operating at maximum capacity. physical health plays a important role in overall growth of an individual. having a proper nutritional meal and exercising daily or as per required by body helps one in keeping them fit.
  • Mental: refers to a person's psychological state of mind.family, finance,social and enviornment factors help one to be mentally stable.
  • Emotional: a person's ability to deal with both positive as well as negative emotions. A emotionally healthy individual can process and express their feelings very well, they can handle and respond to any situation very well.
  • Social: our ability to interact and form meaningful relationships with others. having a good social circle, interacting with them on regular basis is a must in order to be socially healthy.
  • Environmental: the study of how the environment influences human health. The sorrounding of an individual like fresh air, greenery, lear sky or the poluuted air and various chemical present around oneself  greatly affect ones health.
  • Spiritual well-being: the state of mind in which you find meaning and purpose in your life. Various factors like religion ,religious beliefs, morals and ethics determine ones spirituality.

According to WHO there are few more categories os health. They are  :

  • Family health
  • Sexual health
  • Occupational health 
  • Public health
  • Reproductive health

   Human health is a very complex word but we can simplify it by just following a healthy lifestyle which has been emphasized in every branch of medicine whether ayurveda or allopathic medicine.
